Necessary setup configuration:
The avr code does not sync channel frequencies as one when turned on. This has to be done. Then one frequency controls both channels. Everything else is stored with enter. Or set both frequencies to the same value and store both. Then on power up with channel sync disabled by default this will not cause a problem.
TDA2005 minimus frequency is 15hz The waveform height difference shows up on pic 691 & 692.
The nonsinusoidal waveform is because the GK4 control coils of 30awg are ~2.4 ohms each.
The TDA2005 specifications say a 2 ohm speaker on each channel of two 4 ohms in parallel.

The circuit is a 12 volt RV battery to +- 5v supply(homebrew) to AVR128 micro-controller (JDO300 code) to DDS sine wave generator (JDO300 engineered) to +12 volt KIT143 dual channel audio amplifier (KITSRUS.com) to GK4 iron wire core TPU device. I had changed things around and lost the configuration due to my belief that the driving waveform had to be sinusoidal. This is not so. Crank the potentiometer full up but this effects the screen refresh sweep. 8)
By adjusting the volume level differing field parameters are achieved.
But muy importante: I have a potentiometer on my device like the SM17/LTPU!
This schematic shows the cross coupling(Tesla swastika) to produce a bucking coil configuration. That is why the needle jerks into rotation.
pic 691 shows the waveform of the spinning compass. ~3.3vp2p @ 1hz.
pic 692 shows the waveform of the rotational field @ 16hz
pic 693 shows the field on the amber screen.

Attempt to achieve magnetic vortex by enabling the top layer to spin CCW and the bottom layer to spin CW.
TEST#1: by connecting the top control in a bucking fashion with the bottom coil of each pair.
TEST#2: by connecting another tda2005 on the coil to drive the top CCW and the bottom CW. True channel separation.

An important effect to notice is the swaying field across the center region of the ring. This is why SM put his clamp-on amp meter in the center. I read 200ma. The swaying would also cut across the two center toroids.

With the spiked waveform now I try square pulse next.

@GK

Try with your compass but place your GK coil vertically, put a small box or whatever in the center to place your compass on so it is in the center. See if it turns on that axis as well. lol

Son of a gun. I stated my previous post wrong. I meant put the GK coil vertical but keep the compass horizontal in the center.
The way you had it with the compass also vertical is OK because it shows the same movement as when the coil is flat on the table but with less spin momentum due too gravity.
Now if you try it with GK coil vertical but compass horizontal you will see the fields that are cutting downwards into the center of the coil.
Geez I also prepared a post for your other three level coil and will post it soon with some other observations on coils.

Latest findings are that the rotational wiring configuration produces a bucking magnetic field and the bucking wiring configuration produces a rotational field on the screen of a vga monitor. The screen has a magnetic field output itself so what is visible is the 2 fields interference.
The compass needle spins because of the bucking spikes that occur. The needle just jumps to the next place of the North spike.
So with the video screen field acting as a steady state field this gives a semi bias for the coil to act with. The screen is 50hz/60hz self registering depending on the country cycles.
I rewire the GK4 to the bucking wiring configuration,
Set it on a Tesla pancake coil and take a scope shot off that.
