“The conventional view serves to protect us from the painful job of thinking.”― John Kenneth Galbraith
...

"To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection“ Henri Poincaré.

I think Poincaré is more subtle than Galbraith, because if it were enough to make the effort to challenge what is conventional in order to bring something new and valid, all the fools would be geniuses, the Einsteins could be counted in their millions.
Not everyone challenges the conventional out of intellectual laziness, but out of recognition of its validity and the awareness that they don't have anything better to offer (an awareness that fools don't have).

Everyone reading this forum or any other forum needs to understand that it might not be any working device being shown that can do any work for more than an LED being lit up, as if you do it you put yourself in great danger.

There are at least few devices working somewhere in the world with another few hundreds on the way. All systems will have the output of what your components can handle it. There are many ways to achieve but all the systems will work based on Earth being seen as a component … just try understand what Nikola Tesla already showed us.

You need to decide if you want a working device or just keep splitting the hair in thousands strings trying to agree or completely disagree. Trying to be an scientist means that you have to put up with all academia in the world and seems that nobody can win for various reasons.
So, just build as many as you can/afford release everything free for everyone and hopefully we can have a rate of production of 1000 per month in first 3 months … than that’s it.

It can be done by electronic components or just coils or both and is working … very simple devices diy for domestic use.

Remember Tesla did it without fancy oscilloscopes and far less sophisticated modern technology. Keep it simple … if you need resonance in yout coils do it by wire length otherwise you’ll be tuning all your life possibly without success.

Great finding  ;D

I’m glad that you managed to disclose one of the devices that advertise … keep the good work  O0

As we can see this system incorporate all elements and components that I already mention previous … I can only say a very warm thank you  >:-)

I just found it funny that someone would go to that extent when they could have actually replicated a serious project  ;D
Skillful nonetheless..

I imagine some long term OU researchers feel like one of the squirrels by now.. with so many circles having been gone around ..
At least the possibilities have been whittled down to a select few! (many scams have been shown to be just that)

This is not to say, imo, something couldn't "break water" tomorrow (or at least soon given 8b. people on earth now)

I think it's problematic because "the conventional" obviously keeps changing.

Conventional simply means conforming to established practices or traditions of the current time period. I mean if the "conventional" is always valid why did we stop blood letting with leaches and drinking mercury for medicinal purposes?.

Many people cannot wrap there mind around this concept but the exponential growth of knowledge obliterated the conventional a long time ago. As one professor put it, by the time many students finish university most of what they were taught is obsolete. That's how fast science and technology is changing today.

For example, https://open-organization.com/en/2017/04/26/knowledge-creation-globalization-and-exponential-growth/

Think of it this way, my knowledge is not defined by you or anything you know. It's defined by my ability to access what millions of people/engineers/scientists much smarter than you or I learned last month and published on the internet. Now with AI I don't even need to search the internet and an AI can search millions of sites finding all the most relevant information for me.

To be honest any kind of prediction about the increase in the rate of the growth of knowledge due to AI may be over my head. Think of it this way, we probably spend more time looking for relevant information than we do reading it or trying to understand it but the growth of knowledge is still exponential. So what happens when our access to the newest information we want to know also becomes exponential?. Theoretically the rate of growth of knowledge should increase my magnitudes and I cannot even comprehend what the outcome may be.

To put it into some kind of perspective, the combined knowledge of humanity increased and learned more new things in the last minute than we learned in our entire lifetime. Why?, because there is more people with an increasing access to information learning more new things we don't know exponentially faster than we can comprehend.

Some say this is the end but how can more access to more factual information be an end?, it sounds more like a new beginning...

In terms of radiant energy we only need to create a disruption in order to harvest, by shorting 2 fields that have a potential difference at a high (or the right) fervency where the local environment will start to balance its own entropy as it sees its an developing anomaly. There is probably an infinite methods to tap into this energy and extract the exact form that we want to employ to power up our “little things”. We can use: sound, magnetic, electric, kinetic, radiation … anything we can think off as 2 fields of the same kind with a potential difference. Just pay attention the way you connect the fields and avoid all loses you can until disruption is created.

Found this to be of relevance to the discussion.

It's interesting to note the contradictions most take for granted including the author of the video...

In the video around 12:00 minutes he claims zero point energy could be extracted using the Casimir effect to confine specific EM wavelengths. He goes on to say this could modify the ground state but is a violation of the second law of thermodynamics. In fact most people confuse the laws of thermodynamics and electrodynamics applying laws where they don't apply.

For the record, heat as jiggling atoms, heat engines and heat pumps have almost nothing to do with electrodynamics. For example, all EM waves in the vacuum of space do not generate any heat because the are almost no atoms to interact with and the reason space is -270 Celsius. A superconductor having no resistance also generates no heat. So we should understand where thermodynamics applies and where it does not. I found most people are obsessed with heat and thermodynamics even though very few even understand it. Primitive concepts and forms of energy like heat are not the way forward.

Moving on, the picture below from the video gives us some indication of what's really going on, does it look familiar?. When I saw it the first thing that popped into my head is a solar cell. Incoming radiation, two different materials, EM excitation, a gap/band gap and biased to act like a diode.

https://chem.libretexts.org/Bookshelves/Inorganic_Chemistry/Book%3A_Introduction_to_Inorganic_Chemistry_(Wikibook)/10%3A_Electronic_Properties_of_Materials_-_Superconductors_and_Semiconductors/10.07%3A_Diodes_LEDs_and_Solar_Cells
Quote
Diodes are semiconductor devices that allow current to flow in only one direction. Diodes act as rectifiers in electronic circuits, and also as efficient light emitters (in LEDs) and solar cells (in photovoltaics). The basic structure of a diode is a junction between a p-type and an n-type semiconductor, called a p-n junction. Typically, diodes are made from a single semiconductor crystal into which p- and n- dopants are introduced.

Now were starting to connect the right dots conceptually...

Think of it this way, photons can excite an atoms surrounding electric field but so can EM waves in the correct context. Don't think about a direct conversion of energy, think about concentrating energy under very specific conditions then converting it to another form with no reversal for maximum efficiency. Nikola Tesla touched on this subject when he spoke of 1/4 wavelengths (ground state to max potential) with no reversal. Conceptually an energy trap, the energy comes in but once it is in it has no choice but to move forward along a predetermined path of our choosing.

I’ve seen so many users on this forum saying “if you don’t do it I’ll do it before anyone else does” … so far nothing happened since, despite we are are now few years away from that point … or at least is far too slow for the C velocity of “social media” takeover.

What are we waiting for ?  ^-^

In meantime bigoilco have raised the price based on nothing but greed and we just watch them how they cash in billions doing nothing .. gov everywhere pushing for unreliable solar and wind which require huge costs for individuals in necessary storage associated with this kind of already obsolete tech. And more that that, they have prepared large package laws to tax anyone even they don’t have (yet) access to an fe.unit.

I can tell 1 thing, I’m not going for another winter based on gov&co.grid as latest info shown that honest and sincere ministers and prime ministers have some undeclared (not required by law) and undisclosed investments in that big.oil.Co.

Honestly after their covidshowdown of what they are capable off I can see a fierce dispute taking place really soon as being we or them and nothing else. And for sure as things stands I can see any difference between hyper oppressed sunrise and presumed extravagantly freedom sunset. It really isn’t any difference between 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock in this way and because 3 has raised fast to 9 but quite the opposite.

I’m simply outraged and being a rebel as I as was all time … I really don’t care about consequences that might come as I never did.

Let’s enjoy together a beautiful sunset and make it great for human beings, but be ready to defend your rights at some cost associated. Release the hounds while you can or you may never be able to do it … if it’s not too late already. We need to abruptly discharge our caps to release that tremendous power surrounding us.

Yeah, quite unexpected to see this happening, isn’t it?

Im being fed up to see all latest inventors rushing to make it to public when they are on last length before vanishing, being smart enough to get their inventions but not really smart to get it out while they can change something for good, pursuing money in this way is just childish. And it will be the fate of everyone trying to do the same … just learn what they did to Tesla.

Most of the time it doesn’t cost much to build even from scrap and teaching others to make it is far more valuable than anything in the world as same dark forces can make you lose everything in a blink

How it might look if you launch 100-1000 devices at a time than every single one would bring another 1-10 more ?

Do we ever ask ourselves why energy distribution co were so keen to replace neon tubes lights for lower consumption bulbs ? It was a great danger to have available so many hv-hf cheap transformers ? But what about the fluorescent tubes themselves which are cheap plasma devices and they work absolutely fine being burnt when you power them wirelessly ?

I mean research is good but without practical application people don’t trust researchers, academia or scientists anymore.

Things like what is it good a superconductor at room temperature were another 1000 years of research needs to be done to have something practical and useful in your home/business … is just bs

This is wrong on several levels...

First, researchers, academia and scientists study nature and natural phenomena to determine the facts of a matter. They seldom if ever look for practical applications which is generally the job of inventors and engineers. Scientists study things to find facts and Engineers try to apply said facts.

Second, the greater majority of intelligent people recognize science and engineering as the best and the brightest. It's only recently that corporate/political/religious entities have weaponized fake news and misinformation to change peoples views. For example, the politician paid by fossil fuel interests falsely claims the science of renewable energy is questionable. The science is hardly questionable but the politician being bribed to cast doubt and spread misinformation is.

So we need to get our facts straight concerning who is doing what and why.

Bill Burr the comedian had a funny video on this subject. He basically implied, only stupid people believe men like steve jobs or elon musk are geniuses. There business men who pay smart people to do all the hard work then try and take all the credit for of it. You think steve jobs picked up a soldering iron and built an Iphone?. You don't honestly think they invented any of there products do you?. It was the scientists and engineers they hired who made it happen not steve jobs or elon musk. Bill Burr nailed it...

One word, mercury.

The fluorescent tubes contain mercury which is toxic and tons of it were ending up in landfills and leaching into our waterways.

An estimated 75% of fluorescent bulbs used in the United States are not recycled or disposed of properly; mercury leached from landfills eventually reaches rivers, lakes, and oceans, where it bioaccumulates in fish and shellfish. Consumption of contaminated seafood is the leading cause of human exposure to mercury.

That’s why we need open source … to root out the bad things.

I’m not sure if it’s laughable or to cry when I look where we are right now in 2023

And we will see more often a “guy with soldering iron”  … pop up everywhere taking aim at engineers, scientists researchers and academia … and I can’t say loud that is wrong. At least not when bored to death people using prostitution media to take a “trip to the Moon” or take peek deep into the ocean, while John Doe is told we are far away from anything and all scientific world needs thousands more years to comprehend discoveries +100 years old … while a “guy with a hammer” can make wonders and magic  that the same scientific world utterly deny it.

How can we accept that it became easier to jail everyone for the benefit of few ?

I can’t decide to say is wrong or right as you do, but for sure I can say something is very wrong somewhere and soon we will witness some interesting facts as nature will bring the equilibrium in its right and price will be paid by all, good or wrong.

I really can go on for thousands pages … but I guess you got the point.

Well, this happened because nobody told John Doe that a fluorescent tube can be lit even when apparently is burnt ..but telling him this would lead to unveil their lies about how electricity work isn’t it ? And then, maybe, John Doe then might have the curiosity to explore a little bit deeper about what else is told wrong by the “smart guy”.

Also I’m not completely sure about mercury effect  ;D while am aware that any abuse of use is poisonous. I’ve played a lot with mercury when I was young and I might have a different idea about the danger of mercury … but if that many idiots are able to drink bleach to get rid of covid I really wonder why we don’t have a full research on this too and completely ban all bleach and bleach contained products, including washed with bleach chicken in the superstore.
Shall I say something about sugar as well ? Or bread ?

You look like someone able to think with its own mind, please check for errors.

Brings up a thought in my mind - why are they "phasing out" 3 wire NST's?
Connection to ground makes them more dangerous?? apparently

I personally wonder why 2 wire NST's have become commonplace (online, anyhow) assuming they now implement a neutral ground bond (have not yet bought one to open one up and see)
This would make them less prone to modifications / unintended use afaict.. Don Smith revisions, etc, even make it impossible to use in such a device.

What's wrong with 3 wire? (open question)

Seems only unskilled installers are likely to injure themselves on one, and it happens every day anyway, proper training is the solution, not nerfing the whole world  ;D
Peddle out a inferior product with enough excuses and people will buy it.. You can fool some of them some of the time and that's enough, apparently.
I've no doubt that unbelievable things would be within each of our respective grasps, were the information in full form available to do so.
And we know that some of the most fundamental understandings are flawed, such as Maxwells equations (or the lack thereof)
Worth keeping an open mind on these topics .. We only know what we know.

Do you mean, can someone explain it?.

It's simple, solar with battery storage allows the energy to be used when the sun isn't shining. It can also be used for backup power if the grid power goes down.

Here's a clue, your already paying for all the expensive power generation equipment the power utility uses. Your paying for the power plants, generators, the power lines and towers, the transformers and labor costs. It's built into the price you pay for grid power plus a large profit. So it's cheaper, cleaner and more reliable to generate your own power.

The way I interpret what was said is:
S-PV has been pushed so hard as it represents another profitable commodity, in the sense that grid tie owners become a source of revenue for the installer / associated power company.
Off grid setups are harder to do as they usually require DIY installation (not a problem for some of us) but is for others.
However - IMO - off grid setup is undoubtedly the cheaper, more effective and less complex option - provided you know what to do with the power and can size then deploy a system to requirements.
In simpler terms, grid tie usually creates an economy (alongside component retail) involving external bodies whose interest is to benefit themselves (Power companies worldwide)
It's undoubtedly a fantastic technology but also like so many other things, intentionally retarded (in the actual meaning of the term) for ulterior motives than easing our Human existence.
PV panels (monos, anyway) can be had for incredible prices second hand (ime) with 90+% of their useful lifespan remaining.
The SCC and PB batteries + Inverter can also be had (or built) very cheaply.
(Amo's are hard to come by! and expensive! but the superior option anywhere except the hottest countries, afaik)
Second hand lead acids (and LFE's, NIMH etc) can be pulsed to give a longer life than forced DC charging (this is well known by some)
We should be aiming for a Home Generator design - the ultimate solution for bringing less fortunate continents "up to speed" and then some.
Not benefit some faceless soulless entity (they know)
Not to mention the implications for G7 nations.

Agreed however there's one little snag.

Most utilities in the modern world have upgraded to smart meters so they can charge variable rates. For example, a friend pays $0.15/kWh off peak and during peak hours (6am to 11pm) up to $0.60/kWh. However if they had a hybrid grid tie inverter and a battery bank they could charge the battery during off peak at the lower rate and use it during peak rates. Ergo, they would always pay the lower rate saving $0.45/kWh.

Now some people in the U.S. like Texas where there getting shafted by private utilities claim to be making $100/day simply by importing power to charge there battery bank or EV battery off peak then selling it at peak. Think about that, $3000/month makes the payment on there EV plus a profit simply by using it's battery as storage.

As well, since a person is consistently importing/exporting power sneaking some extra power into the grid from a free energy device would hardly be noticed. However joe blow dropping his average grid power consumption by 50% would tend to raise some red flags.

I find most peoples logic strange, I can't wait for my power rates to go through the roof. You see I'm paying a low bulk rate of around $0.09/kWh so the return on investment(ROI) of solar and wind power is very low. However if the price quadrupled to $0.36 then the ROI drops by 75%, say from 20 years to 5 years. Now clean energy makes perfect sense and the ROI at 20% would easily exceed most investments in the stock market. Why wouldn't everyone do it?, in fact most intelligent people would, problem solved.

I’m puzzled, honestly.

Is this over unity research ? Moving all costs associated with inefficient power generation at John Doe expenses ? This is the solution ?

What about built in the wall sterling engine ( I mean solid state) or peltier devices  … or just use of atmospheric electricity 100v/m above the ground … continuously, non weather or day light dependant and ditch power banks ?

Well … the “guy with the soldering iron” (infantile second hand scientist, as described by an smart user in another post) absolutely right, maybe is time for the guy with the hammer soon to shine.

I found is just amazing how supposed to be scientists are unable to replicate almost anything while being busy to play with their useless expensive toys. What is so difficult to design and build a simple device starting from desired load, knowing the working principle and do the necessary math when we know parameters of proposed input ? … ohh, I know why … someone discovered pv solar panel and the smart John Doe (middle class) is going to abuse the system or become energy independent as long as his batteries last  :-X

Sure FE is easy peasy and anyone can do it, however, in reality the odds of understanding how all this works are about the same as winning the powerball lottery. Coincidentally, the odds of winning the powerball lottery are about the same as being struck by lightning while simultaneously drowning in a body of water.
