Last Wednesday (18 Nov 2020), a strange metallic-looking object standing about the height of two women was found embedded in the sand in a remote red-rock desert area of Southern Utah. No one knows what it is - or where it came from. No kidding! It would be exciting to me as a scientist to be part of the team which first analyzed its composition using a portable XRF device! And took close-up photos, all around, especially on top. Also, is there a base - or how deep into the sand does it go? Sounds, rf, magnetic, etc...? Who will join me in this adventure? Even then contacting authority that oversees that parcel and asking if it was placed there? Or ? I would imagine tooling marks would be evident under a scope ? Is nice to consider it may be an unusual artifact ?

Sr. Member Posts: 345	Looks fascinating. I find it hard to buy the story that an artist did this in such a remote hard to find area. Artists want recognition and this being where it is it might have gone unseen for decades if not longer. I thought too it would be very interesting to investigate but I wouldn't really have the means to do so. Is there an actual location pinpointed for this - like GPS coordinates?

It seems to be quite resistant to weathering and oxidation. I think a lot of people had the same idea as the site that has the PDF timing out.
