To sort of go 'out there'. I believe we used to have many abilities, that are now not needed.
Back in caveman days, a party may head out and sense a danger in an area. That area was where people were killed by snakes from a hidden pit. Future hunting groups know to avoid the area, because the area itself is infused with the warning.
Back at the cave, others could readily remote view the group, to know they were safe.
Such things are around now as 6th sense, ESP, Remote Viewing, Deja Vu, but we don't know how to use them anymore. We don't need to use them.
Strongly emotional moments, such as death by force, or even marriage (can be a similar thing if marrying the wrong woman) may include an 'energy dump' into the spot that the event takes place. Such things may bring spirit contact... or people on YouTube walking around with radios listening in for spirit words.
So where is Slider going with this?
What if, ET's are in the same ballpark for our own communications abilities. Abductions may be happening, sightings may be happening, but we're always just that bit 'off' from fully grasping the realities, because we've lost what once was common.
In terms of a radio, our tuning dial is now set to focus on the moment, not the longer and bigger picture. Day to day survival is replaced by a cellphone and weekly shopping.
Tuning the self back into a better resonance that would bring better ET understanding, may be possible. I don't believe a purple robe and chants to be the way, but will continue to look upwards outside when the weather warms up.
