Yes the White Zombie (Datsun) is cool and I've been watching his videos for years. But it is not the fastest street legal car. It is one of the fastest electric cars off the line but others have hit higher top speeds and many street legal cars have a higher top speed. Electric cars can be some of the fastest off the line due to the torgue of electric motors but they usually can't hit the high speeds that gas cars can. However I've often thought if they were to add some gearing in between those electric motors and the rear end they could hit some incredible top speeds too. As it is now I don't think most electrics use a transmission unless it's a one speed tranny (although I did see one with dual motors running a 2 speed tranny). Correct me if I'm wrong but I think most are direct drive to a differential (I know the Tesla S car does not have a transmission).

This is my dream car and I think officially is still the fastest as an average was taken over many speed trials, and also is a production car with incredible trim.

BTW thanks Chet for that 270 MPH Hennesey video! Very cool. Looks like I saw a GoPro camera mounted in the car. The wide angle of the GoPro makes it all the more dramatic
