Well I didn't know the way to cancel a post that I had to rewrite, so it is the sign for waiting   :).

Now it is done, and it was a pain in the ass to correct some mistakes in math. But it was an instructive exercise.
See below.

Amazing stuff .........
lamare made a compilation of post here.

Nothing amazing except the fallacious way to present conventional phenomena.
Example: "The Rotary Electrostatic Converter". "This unit exhibited the property of materializing and dematerializing electric energy without regard for the Law of Conservation of Energy.". False!

1) Principle:   The principle of the device is to periodically change the capacity of a charged capacitor and to synchronously extract electrical energy at the moment when the capacity has the lowest value, i.e. when the potential difference and the electrical energy are highest.
If the initial charge is Q, we have Q=C*U and the energy in the capacitor is W=1/2*C*U2=1/2*Q2/C. The charge being constant, then according to W=1/2*Q2/C, if C decreases, the electrical energy W increases, so we can gain electrical energy! Yes we can, it is a real known means to generate electrical energy.

2) The good question:  Where this energy comes from? Is it free?
It is free only if we can change the capacity at no price. A capacitor is fundamentally 2 separated plates. When it is charged, the two plates are attracted, due to the electrostatic force of charges of opposite sign lying of the facing surfaces of the plates. To decrease the capacity, we have to move a plate away from the other. Therefore we have to exert a work against the electrostatic force which inversely tends to bring the plates together.
Now in the free energy field, we are very optimistic  ^-^ so we are expecting that the work we will have to provide will be less than the electrical energy we gain. We must do the math.

3) Mechanical energy.    The electrostatic force is the Coulomb force F = Q*E where E is the electric field. To deal with this formula, we must remember that we have a plate which plays the role of a test charge, moving in the field of the other one. The field inside the capacitor is U/r where U is the potential difference and r the distance between plates. Each plate contributes to half the field because one plate retains a charge Q and the other one a charge -Q. Consequently the field from only one plate is E=1/2*U/r. Now we can rewrite the equation of the Coulomb force by using the potential difference U: F = 1/2*Q*U*1/r.
Q=C*U (well known relation), so U=Q/C and F= 1/2*Q2*1/C*1/r. The capacity of a plane capacitor is C = ε*S*1/r where ε is the permittivity and S the plate surface area. We are left with: F=1/2*Q2*1/(ε*S)*dr.
Work is force times distance, thus the elementary work to move a plate is dW = F*dr = 1/2*Q2*1/(ε*S)*dr.
Therefore if we move a plate from a distance r1 to r2, we must spent a mechanical work
W = 1/2*Q2*1/(ε*S)*(r1-r2)
.

4) Electrical energy.   The electrical energy in a capacitor is W=1/2*C*U2. U=Q/C, then W=1/2*Q2*1/C.
If we reduce the capacity from C1 to C2 by increasing the plate distance from r1 to r2, we gain an electrical energy W=1/2*Q2*(1/C1 - 1/C2). As C=ε*S/r, we gain electrical energy W=1/2*Q2*1/(ε*S)*(r1-r2). Same result!

Conclusion: "The Rotary Electrostatic Converter" is based on a lie. The electrical energy that the device produces is exactly equal to the mechanical energy that we spent to change the capacity.

I had zits when I was a teenager.    :D      I outgrew them, though.    ^-^

Partially on topic?
It occurs to me that Wimshurst machines may or may not be generating monopoles?   If so, are they capable of partially levitating?   Would differential equations involving power and kinetic energy hold true, here?   By that I mean:   kinetic energy in foot pounds per second per second acceleration on one side of the equation and ergs or possibly watt-hrs (per second?) of electrical input power on the other side of the equation?
I'm not sure of the validity of the concept, since it's a flash of insight from my creative mind in an inspired moment.   Just a thought.
