The CFA (Cross Field Antenna) has been mentioned numerous times in forums we visit. I have not seen a good discussion about them yet. Maybe, the math is above some folks. There are others limited by the math engraved into their heads. To start, read this page and pay special attention to the bold text. http://www.antennex.com/preview/cfa/cfa.htmThe workings of the CFA include many 'outlandish' ideas in electromagnetics. Magnetic fields produced without current flowing in a wire? Electric or magnetic fields produced by a combination of other fields? All strange stuff I'll warn you in advance that there are plenty of articles and people stating other things are going on and the CFA is a piece of rubbish. They are the ones incapable of expanding what they have learned or don't consider this worth some bench time. I know these folks to be limited to their education. To put it simply, these things work when you throw out Heavyside's garbage and revert back to Maxwell. Even then, you must expand on some of Maxwell's ideas. I enjoy using them just so I can say... Spout something beyond the books. I've already read and understood them. THEY AREN'T COMPLETE!
