That's a cool video and I have done many similar experiments.
Here's some food for thought...
Watch the video again and note how the conductor ring which makes a full circle has a strong repelling field and the split ring does nothing.
In fact the average coil acts exactly like the circular ring in the video only it has more turns. Which is why many of the greatest free energy inventors claimed the coils everyone builds are actually eddy current generators. Everyone builds coils designed to always oppose/repel the field source ie. Lenz Law. So in fact the average coils everyone builds are a low efficiency eddy current generator just like in the video... the same flawed principal.
There lies the problem doesn't it?, everyone keeps building coils the same way and we know the induced field will oppose the inducing field limiting the power output and efficiency. Everyone keeps building coils the same way never questioning why or if there could be a better way. Here's the really cool part, most textbooks actually claim that if the eddy currents did not oppose the source field the output current could have any value because it's not opposed. The textbooks then go on to use the flawed circular reasoning that the inducing field must always be opposed by the induced otherwise it would constitute perpetual motion. Obviously the textbooks are wrong...
In fact, a "coil" can be built which does not oppose the inducing field because it does not use mutual induction/eddy current formation as a process. It also does not follow the standard rules for the turns ratio and a 10 turn primary can generate a higher voltage on a 1 turn secondary.
In this respect most people have no idea how FE inventors approach any given problem. FE inventors don't care about the hallowed laws of science or the average opinion of them. They look at a problem with an open mind then devise ways or means to work around the problem. Stuff written in some textbook, other opinions, feelings or beliefs never enter the equation. We look at the problem objectively, test the problem to see what it actually is in reality, devise means to circumvent it then build a practical application. So this silly notion that we cannot do something just because some other people wrote in a textbook that it cannot be done is completely absurd.
The only fact we need to know is that some people are always claiming something cannot be done while others are doing it. It is the way, and has been proven in history a million times over.
Here is the procedure I and most other inventors use...
1)Configure 2 coils in a circuit.
2)Do whatever is necessary, that you can think of, to reduce or eliminate the induced field opposition to the source.
3)Regardless of any theory or opinions if what you built works... that's the correct solution.
