Hi All,

Sick of the big and ulgy gasifiers out there, this is my simple design to run a 1kw generator system using wood pellets or small wood chips.

I think he is showing us, Russ Gries isn't the only one that can show non-stop production of some really cool stuff.  I miss those days though.  Lately, Russ has slowed down a fair bit.  With four kids and employment where he has to be in the lab instead of wanting to be in the lab, it's put a bit of a damper on things.  He's still the same guy though, just a better work/life balance now.

Hi all,

The great thing about building project, you have to love doing it.

I am known to build fast and have working models up and running very fast.

I have been slow down do to the fact I have this job to finished ASP, but the weather does not like concrete work. I have been working every clear day I get to get R done!

My first project as a kid was when I was 9 or 10 years old, I rememeber even today when my Dad ask me what I was building ,I told him I was building a," Helicopter daddy".

It's also good to have the tools, I have lots of projects still, but working one 3 of them at this time. Summer time is my mechanical projects, winter turns into electronics ones.

I'm almost ready to start the gasifier reactor, working on the blower unit, cooling system and electric thermo starter later on.

Hello All,

I am just about finished with this gasifier project.

This is the first wood gasifier reactor start up, I still need to make the water cool condensor next.

Enjoy the show.

Hi All,

I ran into a problem with wood pellets, and I was creating more tar then needed due to low air flow in the reactor.

I have fixed the problem and was able to reach temperature above 2000F.
