Kind of a trick

The copper tube with a slit represents one turn of a transformer

The nail represents one turn of a transformer

The ferrite is the core

  1 : 1 transformer

Hi All,

The way its made with the 'windings' as they are the nail appears to be at  90 degrees to the slotted copper, assuming the feed cables are next to the slot but as they appear at each end it is probably transformer action as the length of the tube is far greater than the slotted ring formed. Theres not much looking at it from a UHF point re. long wires and ferrite being used.
