I have a couple of kgs of metglass ribbon, anyone know of a way to bond this once wound to keep the core solid? At the moment my experiments have yielded noisy cores as the laminations repel eachother when energised, which of course will incur losses. When going above 8kHz I cant hear the vibes but obviously they will still be there only probably not as lossy as the inertia of the material comes more into play and less amplitude in oscillations.

Hi Fraser

You can but bottles of Quick dry clear Enamel i wonder if soaking in this and then allowing to dry would do the job, i used this on some 1.8 Km wire coils i made for Spherics Tetra build
