@All Let's go a little further and try to understand what Mr.Snow is trying to say in this statement in regards to thermodynamics ----- C.P. Snow, the British scientist and author has offered up an easy and funny way to remember the Three Laws. He says they can be translated as: (1) you cannot win (you can’t get something for nothing because matter and energy are conserved. (2) You cannot break even (you cannot return to the same energy state because entropy always increases (3) you cannot get out of the game (because absolute zero is not attainable). Supposedly we cannot win, nor break even nor get out of the game but what is the game? Well in thermodynamcs he is referring to an isolated system or a closed insulated box. He is stating if we have a perfectly closed box then we cannot gain energy which is not there, we cannot break even because our box will always lose energy to the environment and we cannot change the state of what is in the box because that takes energy. Mr.Snow is stating if we do not allow the conditions in the box to change then the energy in the box cannot change, wow, maybe he should be nominated for a Nobel because his keen sense of insight and intellect are simply mind boggling. He is saying if we do not open the box (an isolated system) then the conditions thus energy cannot change however he is obviously not the sharpest crayon in the box because he is simply stating what should be obvious and taken it completely out of context-- he is a moron. Now let's say I have Mr.Snows magical "isolated" box is in front of me and it is 12:00 noon and 30 degrees celcius then I open his magical box, the internal temperature is now 30 degrees and I close the box. Next I wait unltil 12:00 midnight when the temperature is 10 degrees celcius and I open his magical box and allow the difference in temperature (20 degrees) to perform work through some mechanism then close the box again. Now I could do this every day and night for a very long time and in every case I will gain energy, I will more than just break even and I have no need to cool anything to near absolute zero which is absurd. So how in the hell can I do what Mr.Snow says is impossible? well I managed to do the impossible because I simply opened his damn box and allowed what was inside to interact with the environment which was changing. You see Mr.Snow and his nonsensical statements can only apply to a completely isolated system(a magical closed box) which is designed so that it cannot interact with it's external environment therefore it is obvious that it cannot gain energy. However it should be just as obvious that if we open the box when the environment is changing then energy can and does enter the system. So here it is easy to see why this nonsensical arguement that FE devices are impossible because of the three laws of thermodynamics is completely absurd. His arguement relies solely on the fact that the inside of the closed box cannot interact with the environment therefore it cannot possible gain energy, he does not allow any interaction with the environment to prove his point that there can be none-- again he is a moron who has simply stated the obvious and nothing more. All we have to do is open this magical isolated box at the correct time in a changing environment and we can show an energy gain and this does not violate the conservation of energy it substantiates it because energy is conserved.
